    Hi everybody!

First time here in the International Bbq4all..

I’ve noticed the tons of great food and beautiful photos posted in this section!! Definetly an awesome job from international “collegues”!

I’ve just a question..Does anyone have any experience in using the Chargriller Duo? Seems to me a great tool..I’d like to buy it but I do not think anyone is selling it in Italy..
Any suggestion where I can find it?

    Thank you very much!!

    Keep up the good work!!

    C U soon!

Here i am ( thx for the beer, Carlo  )

    Hi there oook !

The Duo is not officially available yet in Europe because the european distributor is based in germany and thats off course where they do most of their business.
German (and European) laws require a lot of documents and certificates if you want to sell something, especially a gas grill, to consumers.
Because the Duo is propably only gonna sell in small numbers, so far that was not possible.
Maybe things will change for next year, i´ll let you know as soon as i get new information.
I´ve cooked on the duo at a couple of competitions, trainings and events and like it very much, the only small flaw is the small size of the charcoal grill.

Btw, char griller also has a new gas only grill available in the US.
Check out their homepage. Maybe that one will make it over the pond, as its a nice addition for char griller users that also want a gas grill.

    Cheers,

    DM

    Dear DonMarco,

thank you very much for your quick and complete answer..! It is an honour to recieve a personal note from such an expert like you!!

I’ll send you a 6 beer pack right away ..[+]

    Hope you like Boddington’..s (-:/

Anyway I think the best solution could be, since the Duo is not available, to have both a “standard” Chargriller and a gas grill.. [-]

    Thanks again for your time!
    C U soon.

    Thank you Carlo!
I think Don Marco’s answer is complete! Unfortunately It doesn’t leave so much hope in having the Duo in Italy ever..That’s a shame!

Maybe buying it in US is the solution but I do not think the shipment costs and customs fees are cheap..

If anyone has some suggestion feel free to contact me..

    Thank you!

    oook,definitely pleased at all !
Regarding shipping costs and Customs fee,I suggest you to double check at the Duo’s website.
Maybe they will include shipping charges and you have to pay only our local fees.
Guess that it culd be a worth, defintely !
Please feel free to contact me by MP if you need additional assistance on this issue.
    Bye for now. (-:/

    Hi Ook !

I went to the european distributor last weekend and found out he still has a Duo for sale.

Its a unused showroom model thats going to be sold for a very good price, problem is that its fully assembled and can´t be shipped because the box and packing materials are missing.

So, if you want to make a road trip to germany that might be the chance to get a good deal on a char griller duo.

Let me know and i can arrange the contact for you.

    Cheers,

    DM

    Dear Donmarco,
    thanx for you post!!

It ‘s very very VERY tempting, I must say.. Consider I was already in Munich till yesterday.. I could have come north a little more.. [+]

    If I understood right the European Chargriller Distributor is quite near Munster;
It’s more than 1100 km journey.. For me in this period it is impossible to come there (work, family, etc..).
I’ll try to find a solution, maybe some van driver from my uncle’s firm..who knows.

Really impossible to have it delivered in northen Italy (anywere) somehow (special shipment, someone coming to italy for christmas, maybe Santa Klaus.. (-:/ ) , right?

I’ll even pay full price.. I’ll let you know if I have any ideas to solve this situation.

Thanks again for your kindness in advising me on this matter!

    Bye for now!

Oook, the total gross weight, including the packing (carton pallet, normally) should not exceed 100 Kgs. or even a chargeable weight of 300 Kgs.
Ratio: 1 cbm equal to 300 Kgs. of chargeable.
So,have a look again and consider that with a normal road freight service offered by professional freight forwarders,it doens’t cost a fortune…

The weight wouldnt be a problem, but the grill doesnt fit on a single pallet.

Good luck on finding a solution !

Do you mean a classic standard Europallet ? (80×120 Cms).
Well, very often there other sizes, like 100×120 or more.
But I believe that it would not be a big problem to pack it.
Try to ask the supplier… (-:/

    Hi there!
Got a few news on the shipping ” problem”..
Almost all the main Couriers could ship the bbq, even offering a kind of”on site” boxing service..
The main problem is the price of the service.. From 900 euros or more.. *@[]

    Definitely out of my budget..
I’m really thinking about going to Germany.. [+] also becouse I have a congress in January somewhere up there..
Has the european distributor decided the price for the unboxed Duo?

    Thanx!
